Like others who have read this, I found the three characters' individual stories were far more substantial than the present story that brings the three characters together. Each of their stories filled with sadness and in relation to real life events. As an immigrant and Guatemalan, I'm well aware of the MS-13 gangs. So Evelyn's detailed story was an eye-opener to me. Meant to post this review a couple of weeks ago!

I loved the characters but the narrative was a bit wordy at times... a good read just not fantastic

I just can’t imagine how this ends well.

Ok this got a little nuts about page 100ish, but I’m rolling with it.

الملل دب في عقلي خلاص.... عايزها تخلص بأي شكل المهم انها تخلص... الموضوع بقي ممل جدا

come the freaking on! Stop making Guatemala look like there's nothing but wild infected with animals land.

Por ahora la autora nos presenta a los personajes, contándonos cada detalle de su vida pasada. Me encanta

It’s very readable and looks like a good story. Love the descriptive prose.

I love following Evelyn and Lucia's journeys as the existing story evolves. I've cried on some pages. Time for bed.

I’m having the greatest laugh out loud experience with this book. I can’t remember having such belly laughs reading a book in a very long time. The subject matter isn’t funny, but the character dialogue, musings, & interactions are just plain fun.
