If I can get past the very boring narrators in the audio version I may like the book.

Deary me this isn't great, the story is kind of far fetched.

Me encanta. "Nada había que lamentar. Lo vivido y gozado, bien vivido y bien gozado estaba". No se si Isabel ha sido sabia toda la vida pero lo escribe muy bien.

Es asombroso cómo consigue engancharme Isabel Allende con sus historias, y esta no es la excepción; me atrevería a decir, además, de que, por lo que llevo, de sus últimas novelas publicadas, es la que más estoy disfrutando.

It’s going slow, but I’ll keep going to hunder

It did not get any more interesting. I hate Richard and Lucia is stupid for liking him.

I'm still kind of trudging through this. I love that the 3 main characters are being voiced by 3 completely different people. I just can get invested in a plot line that in theory is very interesting.

I keep waiting for the story to stir my interest more than it has so far. The two perspective love thing is the most interesting thing so far. War crime just makes me sad. Extreme frugality through assumed privilege makes me sad. Repressed people due to their ethnicity makes me sad. I'm just meh. I clicked on this book by accident in the Libby app and thought I'd give it a go anyway and I'm about to abandon it.

One of my favourite writers and this one does not disappoint.

تطور في الأحداث، غريب!

Die relativ kurzen Kapitel und ständig wechselnden Schauplätze bringen mich dazu, diesen Roman geradezu zu verschlingen!

Hach, ich habe schon viel zu lange keinen Roman von Isabel Allende gelesen!

Couldn't stick with it.

اوشكت على الانتهاء منها ، رواية سيئة جداً ، كانت اشبه بكتاب وثائقي ممل عن المهاجرين ، رواية قاحلة من الاحداث، رتيبة ، والحوارات نادرة جداً، امضيتُ وقتا ثقيل برفقتها ،ولو عاد بي الزمن لأختار ، ماكنتُ سأختارها قطعاً!

لولا تلك الأيام المشحونة و المليئة بالأحداث لكنت أكملتها في يوم واحد من شدة استمتاعي بها

أتحرق للأنتهاء منه فلقد أصاب شغفي بسبات شتوي

على عكس التوقعات والترشيحات الكثيرة التي جاءتني لهذه الرواية، وصلت إلى ما يقرب من منتصف الرواية وحتى الآن أجدني غير مستمتعا بها للأسف ورتم الأحداث بطيء ولا يوحي بأي شيء !

لكن لنستمر فالعبرة بالنهايات 🤔

Estoy aprendiendo mucho sobre la historia reciente de Sudamérica, por lo demás el libro es lento y el argumento deja mucho que desear. Muy centrado en la historia particular de cada personaje.

Talk about a downward spiral... this book has definitely taken a turn for the worse towards the end.
