Bill and Tommy's father has been in a bad mood lately and has just been sitting around drinking. A boy sent by Sullivan delivered a letter to their father, but he did not read, because he said he already knew what it was. It said; " I'm waiting, Ned."

Tommy almost got caught stealing at a store, and Billy and Tommy's dad came back from selling their cattle. They didn't get much for the cattle because their is a drought, and the cows did not have much meat.

Billy and tommy's(the main protagonists) dad got into a confrontation with Sullivan( the main antagonist so far).

A lot has happened these last ten pages, and I left off at a very suspenseful spot.

Not much has happened in the 5 pages I read.

Thoroughly enjoying this! It's making me feel all the feels. I'm not even halfway through and I think I've felt every emotion possible already...

I was watching a video on YouTube about Ned Kelly from Australia because I wasn’t familiar with him and immediately thought of this book. I don’t have anything else to do so I might as well read this.

Came upon a bookstore in Hawaii and had just a few minutes to grab something. Just starting to get to the real “story” now.

I am going to have to see some sort of justice. I am getting angry over the violence.

Give the boy a cookie, he finally figure it out! (Let's just note that the conversation in which it was revealed was fairly confusing, and not very indicative as to what had happened. It took four reads to place exactly what the magistrate was saying).

Wow, who could have seen that coming? When do we get the part where we're pulling a "Count of Monte Cristo" in short form?

...can you just tell us the twist we all know is coming yet? Isn't interesting how the doctor never came for one of the richest people in the county? Or the fellow who has a bite on his hand is definitely not from a snake. Hmm, Hmm. This is no Nostromo, and that was a terrible read.

Is this literature yet? I mean what's better than having your introductory characters rape and murder.

If I were a casual reader, this would be the exact moment I would stop. But I'm essentially reading this for other people. Skip this one.

You know, it's very hard to keep reading a book with only one (almost two but he's gone currently) likeable character.

I mean...Joseph Conrad is really commonplace, you can't call it literature just because you took the pretty (now) common ideas from Heart of Darkness.
