I'm not sure I like this one as much as my other WWI books. It's part survey of the whole war and part a discussion about the last 5 and a half hours of the war (the time between the signing of the armistice and its going into effect). This is accomplished with plenty of personal narratives, which I appreciate as something sorely lacking in John Keegan's "The First World War. But it just seems to be lacking purpose.
