this is so... clever. It's like when I was reading Bitterblue and the whole thing just made me appreciate her clever plot twists, except even more so. I really like it!

so far, we have:
1) multiple timelines
2) a bi protagonist
3) some really intriguing mystery buildup (okay Kristin Cashore rocks this element remember Bitterblue??)

they're talking about sexuality and Jane just decided she was attracted to people who use long words after Ivy used one and then had the thought “is Ivy straight” like... okay Jane

Jane just kinda... implied she was attracted to Ivy? I feel like they're getting couple buildup not friendship buildup and I'm Here For It but idk no one tagged this as lgbt?? maybe Queen of Diversity Kristin Cashore is just casually tossing in yet another bi protagonist just saying

This book takes a basic plot and story line and for every different choice Jane could have made there's more story to it and it's just adding on layer after layer and you know what else is going on because of the other choice in an alternate universe and it's so good but there's still other mysteries and even when you've solved one it creates new questions and omg I need to finish.

So far it's reading like a contemporary so I hope it gets more mysterious.

Frogs! Umbrellas! What even is this book? It's insane and marvelous.

I have NO idea what this book is about. I have read no flap copy, no early reviews. It's delightful - I'm nearly as baffled as Jane. And I'm loving every word.

I'm enjoying this but it took me a bit to get into it -- it's so different from her other books. Also, my arc doesn't indicate that this is apparently a choose your own journey type of story so I got kind of confused.
