This book is crazy crackers and I'm digging it.

Well. That chapter was... horrifying. Ok then. Moving on.

I really want to know where this is going!

At that point where I don't think I'm enjoying this, but it's so freaking strange that I just keep reading anyway.

This book is absolutely bizarre but I think I love it?

WHAT IS THIS BOOK

So so weird I love it

Uh, gosh, this is just so awesome! So much going on, so much to unpack. But I am loving it!

So I understand the concept of the book and what Cashore is trying to do, but I literally couldn't. Care. Less. About any of the characters. And what's the point of trying something quirky and conceptually new when you don't even get the basics of storytelling down?

This book started out weird, got super interesting to the point where I didn't want to stop, and now I just need to know how it ends! What a unique and interesting concept!

This definitely falls in the Bitterblue Camp of Cashore Writing. Sad.

Whyyyyy the heck is this book so weird???

Took me a second to get into this, but things are definitely picking up!

This is surprisingly and pleasantly bisexual

I think I had deluded myself into thinking that Cashore's writing wouldn't have evolved since Bitterblue, but it obviously it has. Jane, Unlimited is fascinating so far because true to her talents, Cashore has created impeccable characters. I don't want to put it down!

And reading this book now and seeing the dedication to Cashore's aunts and the role aunt magnolia plays in this story makes me grateful to have had my aunt (Linda) at all. But also so sad that she isn't around for me to share this strange circuitous moment with.

That was the start of a bad time for me--bad years actually--and it started a few days later when my family found out my favorite aunt had suffered a stroke that would prove fatal--something I didn't know when I kept calling and calling to tell her about that job interview and ask her advice on what to wear and to practice questions.

I first heard about this book four years ago when I was interviewing for a marketing position I was wildly unqualified for at Penguin. The then head of school and library marketing asked me about books and we started talking about a few. Including the new contemporary-ish novel Kristin Cashore was writing.

I loved this book. It's perfect and everything I want. Thoughtfully inclusive and all-encompassing. I like that sometimes Ivy and Jane have romantic love and sometimes it might be a bosom friendship. I love the genre play. It was everything I hoped for.
