Interesting

This last ending was my favorite. I like how Jane was the only one who knew about the alternate world beyond the painting and then shared it with Ivy. Overall, this was the most interesting one to read. (F)

"Jane smells the brackish air and hears the water slap against the posts of the dock."
BRACKISH- slightly salty; mixture of fresh and sea water (V)

Jane realized that Jasper is from Zorsted (inside one of the paintings). She gets scared when Jasper says someone else knew how to get out of the painting. It's scary to find out that people aren't who they say they are or seem to be. (S,C)

In this alternate ending, Jasper can communicate with Jane through their minds. My prediction from the beginning of the book was right that there would be something supernatural about the dog in the future. (S,P)

More characters from UD17 are introduced, and it's really interesting how differently they act in relation to the Earth characters. It's getting kind of confusing distinguishing between the earth characters and UD17 characters because some of them from UD17 have slightly different names. (S)

Jane and Mrs. thrash enter UD17, and talk with themselves from different dimensions. It would be really interesting to see what you'd be like in another dimension. (C)

Ravi and the first Mrs. Thrash are talking about something called UD17. It means unlimited dimension, and Ravi and the rest of the Thrashes are traveling through transdimensions obtaining art. I predict this will be the cause of the missing paintings in this alternate ending. (P)

Jane and the others in the house constantly talk about Charlotte. I wonder where she went and what happened to her that she's been missing for so long? Is she involved with the CIA and all the sketchy organizations everyone else is a part of? (A)

Aunt Magnolia seems to be the motive for almost all of Jane's actions. Every time she has to make a decision about what to do next, she thinks about Aunt Magnolia for strength and wisdom. (S)

I really like that each section of the book is an alternate ending. This makes it engaging to find out all the possible endings that could've happened. Definitely keeps the reader from boredom. (W)

I am dragging ass trying to read this book but I'm not hating it.

I mean, wasn't her face bleeding...

You didn't even try with the romance. Didn't. Even. Try.

*sigh*

Please just make it stop. This is a whirlwind of bad writing and needless confusion.

How would they even get away with that? It's not their house.

I mean, if you were still questioning if you could trust her, why would you tell her almost everything? Treating her as both a child and an adult at the same time is just...*sigh*

It's just so...unbelievable...

I don’t know how I feel about this book. I’m still working on it, but it isn’t flowing as well as I would expect from Kristin Cashore. She is still one of my favorite authors, but I don’t get how all the mystery connects.

*throws the metaphorical table* There had better be a really good explanation for this not being the first section told...did she forget that these are different timelines?

She keeps using the phrase "her perspective shifts" and it's really jarring because all you need to do is say: she gazed elsewhere, or something else caught her eye. Perspective is very different than how it's being used here.
