Listening to the audiobook and I'm really not loving the narrator. She makes everyone sound whiny. It has taken a while to get going.

This is strange AF. I'm reading forward with so much trepidation and anxiety. So far reminds me of a modern "Turn of the Screw" in it's twisty prose and creeeeeeeeepy underbelly.

So much stress and expectations for this one. I've waited so long for a new novel by her, but will it ever compare to her Graceling realm? Page 22 and something tells me though, I'm going to love this.

Oooh, this is why the last 70 pages felt like the end...
I don't think I like this way of telling this story. But okay, I'll give it a go.

Well, my ordered used hardback copy of this book turned out to be an arc and I'm not super excited because I'm missing all the art and I don't know how much has been changed and yeah. Not very happy with this but I get to read it, so...

Starting to understand this now, very interesting concept! Each section is a different Jane who took a different path. Despite the slow start, I've never read anything quite like this and it's becoming a lot more fun/intriguing as it goes.

So far this is super meh. Jasper the dog is great and Jane is interesting, but I don't really know the other characters. The story itself is interesting so far too, but it's so sloooow. Still hoping that it gets better.

Not pulling me in as quickly as I hoped it would, really liking the mysterious dog though!

First path: none of the interesting questions were solved, nor the interesting characters developed. But! Someone give the dog a medal, I love dogs, Jasper deserves it. I hope he finishes all the paths alive and well and happy.

i don't care for this audiobook reaaaaader. i don't agree with the intonations put on any of those sentencesssss. gonna drop this back into the tbr pile until i bother to find a physical copyyyyy.

Boys & ghosts & mysteries are all fine and good, but obviously the right choice is to follow the dog

I feel like I'm reading a crack fic. What is this writing style?

And there’s a Harry Potter reference. Hopefully this is indicative of how much I’ll like the rest of the book - I get amused when something I’m reading references something I’ve read, or has some weird small thing in common with a recent read 😂

Starting the audio and realized it’s Rebecca Soler, so now I’m excited - I so enjoy her narrations typically

This book. Y’all. Serving mystery, complex characters, an MC who might be pansexual (!), jellyfish, flowers, art, art thieves, MORE MYSTERY, and so. many. umbrellas. I’m L I V - I N G. I can’t wait to finish this book but also I want to stay here forever.
