Carmencita gives birth to Frankie Presto right as the raiders come in. How come they stop before they can harm Carmencita and Frankie? How do they survive the raid? (Ask)

Music (the narrator, who is literally music itself), describes the birth of Frankie Presto. He sets the scene in Villareal, Spain in 1936 during a civil war. Here is a picture of that city today: http://tips4travel.org/wp-content/upl...

Right off the bat, Albom introduces the story from a unique point of view. I can't tell yet what this "point of view" is, but I can assume it is a figurative "being" rather than a person. This being explains how he (or she) is not death, and should not be feared. He is also not God, but he seems to be all-knowing. This mystery draws me in. (Writer's Strategies).

Really enjoying this story by Mitch Albom. Maestro talking about music: "The secret is not to make your music louder, but to make the world quieter."

I knew I would love this book by page 4. Mitch Albom writes "All humans are musical. Why else would the Lord give you a beating heart?"

This is life. Things get taken away. You will learn to start over many times--or you will be useless....

Really good so far - I knew it would be. I saw an interview with the author - that's how I heard about the book.

I love Mitch Albom's unique style of writing and this book is not failing to deliver that. The story is told with "music" being the narrator. I wasn't certain how I would like it at first since I am not a musician and don't really understand many of the musical terms being used. I love it.
