Frankie’s city is in war and buffa is in jail. So now Frankie is living with his music teacher when his music teacher visits buffa. Buffa tells him to get Frankie to America and put him on a boat. His music teacher gets Frankie a guitar but the strings are magic. After the music teacher gets Frankie on the boat the sailors eventually abandoned him leaving him homeless begging for food.

Frankie is using a guitar and its strings and magical. He is very confident in playing the guitar but I still don’t know how he dies. He is confident because he is not afraid on stage (has no stage fright.). Also he is confident because he isn’t insecure and really loves himself and other people.

I can hardly put it down

Frankie is finally playing the guitar but is practicing so much his fingers start to bleed. The setting does effect the plot because if he wasn’t were he was he wouldn’t have his music teacher who help make him big. Also he wouldn’t be with buffa so he would not be as into music and as good of a musician without buffa who brought Frankie to a music teacher.

Really enjoying the book!

I just finished reading Part One. Wow! I’m loving this story so far! Need to take a break & let it sink in before I start Part Two.

Didn’t know that this book would be so sad and im not even halfway through.

I’m listening to the audiobook.
(On Scribd. It’s like Netflix for Ebooks and audiobooks!)
The production is great: Multiple narrators many of whom are musicians. (Paul Stanley! ⭐️)
I’m loving the inclusion of IRL musicians and anecdotes in the narrative but overall it’s a wee bit too sentimental for me.

In the book buffa is getting a little annoyed with Frankie’s singing teacher. This book is very interesting and Frankie has a little bit of a sad life so I have empathy for everything he’s been through.

And I’m crying now... 😭

Frankie is getting music lessons for the first time but buffa is keeps questioning the music teacher because it took a year for the music teacher to finally give Frankie a guitar.

Buffa is trying to get Frankie a music teacher, but every teacher they go to rejects him telling Frankie that he is to young or a boy.

Buffa is very caring. For example he is going all over to try to find Frankie a music teacher. Another example is that buffa took Frankie in when he found him near the river abandon.

Uh I have to prepare for my summer reading test tomorrow. So guess who’s going to binge read this book in under 12 hours!

just started. this was a birthday gift by my best friends!!! 💕💕💕 honestly, the first 10 pages made me doubt lol should i cont reading or not because it was too "musically" for a girl who knows nothing about music tones except do re mi and Spanish lol. but luckily i kept going because, omg.. let me just say there's a chapter that nearly made me cry on the train and it's just a beginning!
