Did not finish this audio book. Made it half way. Well written. No issues with is, just not me cup o tea.

When I started this book this morning, I didn’t realize today is world veterinary day! Cool timing on my part because this is a veterinarian’s memoirs! It’s also one of my Dad’s favorite books. 🥰

James is now talking to a man named Mr. Carwnford. The device used is point of view because you have to look at it from James's perspective.

I've enjoyed what I've read so far (and I definitely cried for the old man and his dog), but I'm going to abandon.

I needed something lighthearted to read at this time. Read this years ago, watched the show. Still laughing out loud at times.

James has found out that baby cows have been eating at old wood in the barn. He then has to have the calves eat Epsom salts to help the digestive tract and the stomachs. The scene is a barn and that does not change the factor of the examination of the calves.

I regret waiting so long to read this.

On this page, James is now looking at a severely dying horse. The conflict is that James is facing Character v Character because he is arguing with the horse´s owner about whether or not to put it to sleep.

My mother read this to me aloud as a child, which I adored. I'm not sure how far we made it through. I am loving re-reading it either way!

I feel like this book hit a slow point around 71% and is now picking back up. I’m enjoying the little bits and pieces of wisdom and philosophy about the owners of the animals...and also knowing that Herriot has a nice long career ahead of him, when he talks about “thirty years later”...”when I talk to the young vets now...”
Almost there. I’m excited to see how this book wraps up soon.

Loving it more now! Poor Tristan. As Herriot says, always variety.

I’m not one for memoirs usually, but...so far so good. I am very glad I decided not to go to vet school after all, after some of these descriptions!
