Loving it...watching the TV series too. Interesting how they change the story for TV (like every movie/series)

A good cozy, feel good story.

Primer capítol i ja m'està agradant; em cau molt bé, en Herriot! Té una personalitat molt semblant a la meva, deu ser per això🤣

2nd time to read. Sparked by watching the new PBS television series. Just as great the second time!

This is just the greatest find of these last few years. I love everything about this story and the characters. Interesting, heart warming, feel good. Enough good things cannot be said. I've watched the tv series and both book and show are magnificent.

The TV series by PBS is far better.

Excellent if boring at first.

His writing style is so fun! Enjoying the audiobook narration.

I’m eager to be done with this book and onto the next one. It has remained pleasant enough, I suppose, but it’s like 60+ individual stories and it all feels rather same-y. I read a lot today, though, and I hope I’ll be able to finish tomorrow.

This is actually two books combined into one and I think I’m in the second now because he was re-explaining who various people were recently. Some of the stories Herriot tells are more amusing than others. I especially like reading about Trickie Woo and Nugent. It’s, like I said before, pleasant overall.

Fun and chill

Just as pleasant and refreshing as I remembered. The narration on the audio book is lovely too, with great accents and cadences.

I really don’t know what to say here. The book continues to be perfectly pleasant but not especially biting. A series of amusing anecdotes, nothing more. I’m liking, but far from loving, it.

I’m in it now, and it seems enjoyable enough. A bit about proving himself by diagnosing what was wrong with a horse in agony, a bit about wrangling cattle to inject them with a tuberculosis vaccine. Interesting events, no doubt. *But is it art?*

My grandma recommended this book to me a long while back but I forgot about it. She mentioned it again recently and I added it to my WTRs as it did sound interesting: the drama of the veterinarian life. Only through the first chapter so far.
