I just love it, so entertaining and I love the humour

Brilliant audiobook narrator!

Nothing too deep here. No staring into space for ten minutes thinking about what I just read. Just heartwarming stories about animals and humans and the rolling hills of Yorkshire.

“A bitterly cold evening when I had delivered twins on a wind-scoured hillside; the lambs…struggling upright and making its way, unsteady, knock-kneed, towards the udder…The shepherd…gave a slow chuckle. “How the ‘ell do they know?” He had seen it happen thousands of times and still wondered. Life was full for me. There were so many things to find out and a lot I had to prove to myself. The days were quick and challenging and they pressed on me with their very newness. But it all stopped here in the garden. Everything seemed to have stopped here a long time ago…it was like suddenly coming across a picture in an old book…I could never quite believe it was there and that I was a part of it. -pp. 44-45

“But, looking around me, I began to feel better. The sunshine beat back from the high old walls, bees droned among the bright masses of flowers. A gentle breeze stirred the withered blooms of a magnificent wistaria, which almost covered the back of the house. There was peace here.” -p. 16

Ahhh a soothing balm after Hum.

This was really good, it made me think of my bf because he is obsessed with farm animals. It was very wholesome and I loved the Farnon brothers, Siegfried especially because I could relate to him not beings able to remember anything ever. All the characters are very cute, the setting is amazing, very immersive. Also it's a slice of life book in a historical setting, and you know I love those.

Genuinely one of the most enjoyable reads…ever. I’m laughing, I’m crying, I’m touched, I’m thrilled. My goodness - read this if you want a reading experience with maximum enjoyment.

genuinely one of the most enjoyable and comforting reads out there. herriot injects his writing with a humor that we just don’t get anymore. he is both earnest and sarcastic - i mean the broken passenger seat is sending meeeeee.

So glad I stumbled on this-loving the audiobook.
