There's something a bit tedious about this book. I'm not being drawn in emotionally. Vellem is not very likable and the book skips over parts unexpectedly. For example, we're in a valley, then jump to coming down the other side of the mountain. Then it jumps to pulling into shore on a ship. I might end up DNFing this one, but we'll see.
