You would think, that maybe, just maybe, if she had to focus on writing a book, her husband and kids would, you know, help clean the house. Why is it that she surfaces from writing a book and the house is a disaster? Why is it solely her job? They live there too. Unacceptable. Other than that, so far, sound advice.

Oh just realized this book is by Dana White, the author of the last decluttering book that I couldn't finish. Requested both from the library because I still have a messy house.

Thought I was borrowing an audiobook from the library, but it turns out it was an e-book. Not fun on my tiny phone, so I didn't read more than the intro.

Some of this only relates to women with families and not single women.

It's annoying me that I haven't finished this yet because I keep running out of space on my iPad (since it's on the Kindle app) /headdesks

This book is so great! I've started just 1-2 of her tips and housework already feels so much more manageable.

Here's the thing about this that I'm liking: it's written for people like me. She knows how I'm going to take personally reasonable advice and find a way to keep it from working for me. She's boiling it down to rules. It probably won't work for everyone, but I think it might work for me.

Someone on Instagram recommended this, but in the first chapter the author warns that some people might not need this book. I think I might be one of those; I habitually clean while listening to audiobooks. So ... 🤷
Sticking it out for the chapter on laundry, because that's where I need help!

What I've read so far matched the kind of mindset that I had to slowly adapt to... which is cool owob

A decision that’s waiting to be made is stressful, even if I don’t realize it’s stressing me.

Yep, this is definitely the book for me. The author sounds just like me!
Except that I do my dishes and laundry and stuff within reasonable amounts of time; it just makes me miserable and leaves no time for anything else.

I discovered her blog a long time ago because I love to read about decluttering. She’s a hoot and is the real deal. When she says that organization books are written by naturally neat people, she’s on to something. She shares real life lightbulb moments, real lessons- not the “just put it on your calendar for Tuesday and it will get done every week.” This is not that kind of book.

This book is going to change my life. It's so honest and helpful for all the non-natural homemakers out there like me.

"The physical urge to declutter is a very real thing. Sometimes I feel my skin crawling, I'm just so tired of the stuff. This happens to everyone. I've even heard it evens happens to Normal People."

😂 I may not be the target audience, but I totally know what the author is hinting at. Hilarious.

Although, the author makes it very clear, that I am NOT her target audience for her book, I am strangely drawn to home-keeping books.

House cleaning is something that no one talks about in real life (at least, in my experience), but it's so fascination (and hard!). I like that this book is written by someone who is NOT naturally organized or tidy.
