I was under the impression that this might be "exciting" ... :(

I love the alternating seriousness and aloofness of the chapters. One minute I'm reading about British-American relations and the Battle of the Atlantic, the next I'm reading about mixed food reviews and numerous flings at the Park. My interest continues to be piqued.

Very interesting account of Bletchley Park and the people who worked as codebreakers. So far the story has allowed me to be both sympathetic and proud of these professionals - which a good book is expected to do.

Meh. Will be putting this on hold. I think I'm more interested in the concept of cryptography than the actual history

Really enjoying this. I bought it after watching The Imitation Game but for some reason haven’t got round to reading it until now. It is fascinating and easy to listen to for someone who knows little about the topic. Love finding out how the ordinary people helped the war effort.

Sticking with it. Very interesting but very complicated too.

I gave up on it. Not holding my interest.

Slow progress today...

I really like that it mixes up technical, factual and anecdotal POVs. Although some of the technical might be hard to follow for people with no prior knowledge about Enigma? 🤔

So far, although the content is interesting, I cannot get over how poorly written this is. The amount of elements being repeated within this book shows that it was very badly planned.

Train ride means I've read more of this today than in the last 6 months!

Started this several years ago when daughter moved to Oxford but is rather dry. Now that we live near Bletchley plan to read it next

really enjoying this so far.sounds like a really cooperative work environment, where everyone gave their best.
