This has been my favorite movie since the first time I saw it, but I have never read the book. So far, I love it.

So far I enjoy the movie better

occasionally I like to read a book that a movie I loved is based off of. And of course it is way different. Im liking it though because it is so different Im not sure what is going to happen.

Different from the movie, but already quite interesting.

i love the lyrical way hoffman writes. so far, definitively just as good as i remember it. hoffman taught me a type of magical writing that i have woven into my own work. rereading this, i see just how much she influences me.

This may be a rare instance where I prefer the movie over the book.

There are some things, after all, that Sally Owens knows for certain:

You have to be extremely careful when you look into eyes like his.

But these boys can study all semester, they can be on time for every single lab, they still won't learn what Ben knows until they fall head over heels in love. When they don't care if they make fools of
themselves, when taking a risk seems the safest thing to do, and walking a tightrope or throwing themselves into whitewater rapids feels like child's play compared with a single kiss, then they'll understand.

The flowers
seem to glow, as if each petal emitted a plumcolored ray of light. They're hypnotizing, if you look too
long.

So far I'm liking a lot of how this differs from the movie.

I picked this book up because I liked the movie. However this book is nothing like the movie.

Huge departure from the movie. Trying not to compare them is hard. I do like how different/darker the book is so far...

This is one of my favorite movies so I figured I'd read the book (got it from BookOff for 1$!), too.

loving the flow

Enjoying! Like the exaggerating of facts as if they are totally reasonable; the beauty of Gillian and the boy's reaction to her is one and the women in love...come on! Normally I would roll my eyes and read through the nonsense quickly, but it fits the story.

So I'm kinda stuck in progressing with this book.It is broken up into sections not chapters. At first the story was flying through different events at warp speed, now its dragging on and I dont know when I'll finish it. Hopefully it starts picking back up or it will be sitting on my currently reading shelf for a long time!

Have given up on this one but can't work out how to remove it without marking it as read which I feel would be cheating!

Enjoyable book, interesting characters.

having a hard time getting into the story line. but i know i'll keep reading if only because i HAVE to know how it ends. ( -_- )
