Ah here is the guy for Sally...maybe? Gary. This book is still less about the house and more about the silly girls and their relationships. I'm only readying it to finish it at this point.

Wait?! Gillian is the one who finds the new relationship? Does Sally?

I'm not sure I like this book as much as I like the movie. There is so little of "the house" in the book and so much about boring teenage drama.

Already not like the movie. Same characters and some of the sort of pieces and the plot is half inside out and half totally different.

"On some nights, people thought they saw her, her coat billowing out behind her, running so fast it seemed she was no longer touching the ground."

Some things, when they change, never do return to the way they once were. Butterflies, for instance, and women who've been in love with the wrong man too often.

It's soooooooo good :') A little different from the movie and I think I prefer the movie but still this book is really good!

I absolutely adore the film but I never read the book :/
So far it's been really good and I'm liking Alice Hoffman's writing style!

Well well well... book Gillian it's quite a bit more interesting than movie Gillian... never thought she had that "submissive" side to her.. ;)

Very different from the movie and the writing style feels odd but still an enjoyable read so far :)..

I took it back to the library.

I have been reading this book for over a week now, and I just can't get into it. Perhaps the issue is that it is so different from the movie--which I loved. Or maybe it's that Hoffman tells her stories instead of showing. Either way, I may not make it through. There are way too many other books on my TBR list more worthy.

I can't tell if I like how this is written.

A lot of exposition going on here. It better be the set-up for better things...

Well this is different. The writing is quite lyrical and it would be nice to hear one read it. It's a welcome change after reading some heavy subject matter.

Not like the movie. Not what I expected. Not necessarily a bad thing. But I anticipate I'll come away from it preferring the movie to the book and that's pretty rare for me.

Have a lot of time to read both at work and not at work lately with this weather. This is a quick read.

I'm almost thinking of putting this down. It's slow, and I'm kind of bored. I loved the movie and I wanted to like the book, but I'm not sure :O

Gary, my man from Tuscan has finally shown up. And there are only 50 pages left to read. Definitely enjoy the movie more than the book.

Picked up where I left off. Roughly half way through the book. Have to admit, I'm not sure if it's because it's been over a year since I left off or not, but I'm still not impressed with the book, and I don't think I was impressed with the first half. The 30 minutes worth of reading I had this morning left me wishing I had a different book with me.

Midnight margaritas! It was more fun in the movie. =P

Exactly at the halfway point. I don't want to put it down. Damn you, bedtime! *shakes fist*
