Gillian (Nicole Kidman) is an absolute villain.

Am I supposed to agree with Sally? Who is acting insane about her sister coloring her daughter's hair on her 13th birthday? She ruined her kid's birthday over hair dye. Seriously.

I was listening and it had to go back to the library. I hate this book. To be fair I loved the movie and this is nothing like the movie in tone or plot.

I like it. Beautiful writing! I think I liked the movie more, this time!

Listening to this as I bustle around house witching and ignoring my responsibilities, so far it’s the perfect early Fall vibe—cozy despite the darker parts.

I’m only finishing this because of book club AND I’m excited for the movie (which I can tell are gonna be totally different vibes lol)

I’m sad for Sally + Gillian & how they grew up. It’s interesting the way the town accepted them, then turned their backs. I understand why Sally felt she had to get her girls out of there & can’t let them stay too long when they visit. I’m interested to see what’s happening with the Owen Women. I’m trying to connect the dots about Michael & what I think I know, but I don’t have to whole picture yet.

Ran out of time on library loan! Will need to pick it back up when hold comes up.

So far I’m intrigued by the differences from the movie. Curious how it will play out.

And now I’m out out of hours 🫠
