Different then the movie but good!

Okay…. So nothing like the movie.

to say im struggling is an understatement. I dont like how this book is only broken into 3 parts, no chapters and just page breaks... ugh. will I DNF? giving it one more chance today.

I was definitely expecting the book to be different from the movie but I was more nervous that I'd like the book much less. But I'm actually really enjoying it so far! I like that Sally's daughters are older and actually have a part in the story instead of being background characters. I also adore Alice Hoffman's writing style and how she switches between characters' povs so seamlessly.

I started this one sleepy night before bed, goal is to pick it back up once I finish The Year of the Witching.

You can tell this was written a long time ago (the 2000s) lol.

The chapters are extremely long.

Again. This book and the movie - which I happen to LOVE - are nothing alike. Different as night and day.

So many differences from book to movie it's insane.

First thing.
This is so far from what the movie is I really wonder how they came up with the screenplay. I mean, there are things similar but this is much darker.
Second thing.
This book doesn't have a single chapter or break in the story other than the 4 sections labeled:
Superstitions
Premonitions
Clairvoyance
Levitation

Just a thought. If you saw the movie like me before this, forget it and just read.

Still hardly any dialogue and zero chapters. Its like a run on sentence almost. It’s been super hard to get into 😵‍💫

Is this book over yet? Here I was thinking I was going to be reading a witchy book perfect for October when, in reality, it’s a bunch of stupid drama and some sex thrown in. I’m not even touching on just how unnecessary most of this book is. There isn’t one damn thing that I like about ANY of the characters.

Gillian is younger
