It all starts with knowing oneself which I know from being a Gretchen Rubin fan already. Eager to think of some new habits to try in the New Year and test out some of these strategies.

I'm struggling with this. The author seems very entitled and spoiled. She seems to have endless time and latitude to follow every little whim and then call it a habit. It's leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Really good ideas in this book about how to form good habits and stick with them. Also some good other reading suggestions as well.

Determined to finish this puppy by the end of the year. "It would be impossible for me to eat one square of chocolate a day. For the rest of the day, I'd be thinking about the bar of chocolate... All moderators seem to keep a bar of chocolate stashed away to eat one square at a time. (Maybe this explains the mystery of why chocolate bars are divided into squares!)" I'm an abstainer too, G.

Maybe this is just because I'm an awful, judgmental person but every time Rubin talks about eating low-carb I ROLL MY EYES SO HARD.

"Obligers find it hard to give themselves treats. They'd rather give treats to others." So maybe I'm not an Obliger after all...

Hmm... This thing about chains and To Do lists makes me wonder if I have Upholder tendencies... Or if maybe the Four Tendencies are more simplistic than I thought...

Loving this book so far. It takes into account that one size does not fit all and has me looking with curiosity at my own ways and those of folk around me...

Ha! "Obligers, however, often dislike their Tendency. They're vexed by the fact that they can meet others' expectations, but not their expectations for themselves. With the other three Tendencies, much of the frustration they create falls on others. ...It's 'people pleaser' Obligers themselves who bear the brunt of the downsides of that Tendency." As I was saying, sucks to realize I'm an Obliger. *sigh*

I just realized that out of the four Tendencies, I'm a total Obliger. That sucks.
