"The reward of the good habit is the habit itself." This makes so much sense.

So useful! Already implementing changes, and I'm not yet halfway through it.

I'm listening to this in my car during short trips around town. Based on first CD, listening to it on a long road would make nobody better! And I can't imagine reading it except as quick scan looking for a gem here or there. The author has the habit of repeating herself endlessly. And she must think this is good because, as she tells us more than once, she only has good habits.

I don't usually read self-help books, but I am really enjoying this one so far! Lots of very interesting information about habit formation.

Excellent so far. I'm appreciating my work style a lot more and understanding how varied we can really be as learners and adventurers.

I made it to page 210 and guess what!? My book is missing 32 pages! I'll have to get it replaced before I can continue.

I'm having a hard time getting through this. Lots of good ideas, but It seems like the author repeats herself, isn't clear in other areas, and it's just dry to me.

Good. It's not riveting and the information is not captivating me, but there are some interesting and relevant points to consider as I am making some big habit changes in my own life right now.

Still annoyed with certain aspects but also some useful points raised so glad I've persevered with this & not just abandoned it in disgust.

I like the idea of setting intrinsic rewards for serial goals. Some habits I want just for the habit but some would benefit from a finish line I think.

Did you know the author wears yoga pants everyday?? If you didn't, here is the umpteenth reference!

Hmm. Not loving it. Some good info but the high level of personal examples and detail just doesn't work for this topic the way it did for The Happiness Project. Also: exercise doesn't have any relevance to weight loss??? WTF? Would have liked to see some documentary evidence provided for that statement!

Not sure what to do with all this yet -- should probably take more notes. Maybe. But I think it's doing good things for my attitude re: continuing to work on my habits even when I fail.

Ugh, this book is awful! I just can't make it through. I liked her previous books because they chronicled her experience of trying to better herself and were inspiring and amusing. This is didactic in a completely judgmental, annoying way. So disappointed! Ms Rubin, I liked you so much more before you fancied yourself an expert on self-improvement. Perhaps a chapter on humility in the next installment?

The author's weight preoccupation is extremely irritating (especially the frequent reminders that she's thin! Don't forget she's thin and therefore worthy of being listened to!!!) but the psych concepts are fascinating and her "tendencies" are very close to mine, so her insights are extra interesting to me.
