The chapter on loopholes is killing me. I am so good at finding loopholes. :(

Echt wel boeiende materie, tot nu toe. De jury leest aangenaam verrast verder.

The first chapter (not the intro) is AMAZING. I will be recommending this book to everyone - at least to read the first chapter. It's genius.

Love this quote-Habits make change possible by freeing us from decision making and from using self-control.

Self-righteousness galore. Sorry I'm a Moderator and you are SO CLEARLY disapproving of any lifestyle that doesn't conform to your rigid ideas of "right." I want to finish this book out of the sheer desire to be annoyed with this lady (I'm sure she has some kind of cutesy, insulting name for this kind of behavior, along with a pretentious quote to back it up).

"Adam, how would you like for me to suggest some habits for you?" "Remember, working is one of the most dangerous forms of procrastination. You want to use your time for writing only. NOTHING ELSE, including no other kinds of work." Just me, or does she come off as absolutely insufferable?!

"... I assumed that I was pretty average, so it was a shock to realize that as an Upholder, I'm actually an extreme and rare type of personality." UGH. Get over yourself.

Literally just started the introduction and saw "I've learned to put great store in my own observations of everyday life, because while laboratory experiments are one way to study human nature, they aren't the only way. I'm a kind of street scientist." That's . . . not the same as science. Anecdotal evidence is NOT scientific.

Really great. I love that Gretchen asks such prying questions and gives vivid examples to help you learn about yourself.

Very similar to the Happiness Project - excellent, even life-changing information and research mixed with barely-relevant recaps of conversations that the author had that make her sound really annoying.
