This has one of the very best grand gestures I've ever read; I can honestly say that it outdoes Ian buying Lilymont for Tansy, and the Duke letting Harry "win" one of his properties. Hands down, Philippe is such a good man!

So Elise=Fraulein Maria, Lavay=Captain von Trapp and Alexandra=Baroness Elsa von Schraeder. Obviously there are differences, but there are many similarities that are delightful - and since I love The Sound of Music, this has been a lovely story!

This is such a lovely story. Jack and Lavay have just met - @ 52% of the way into the story. I might have wanted them to meet a little sooner, but we'll see how Lavay handles this new information.

So far, this is a lovely story - maybe it's because we know who Lavay is from I Kissed an Earl and feel a connection to him as Asher's former first mate. We know he's a good man. Very much Sound of Music vibes between Lavay and Elise (Georg/Maria). Love Jack!

Even this early in the story, I love Elise and her son, Jack, who is 6 years old and not much younger than Liam Plum, who is a wonder all his own. I'm interested to see what has happened to Lavay, who is such a great character in Book 4, I Kissed an Earl, with Asher Flint and Violet Redmond.

Off to a good start. Always love when Liam Plum reappears in these tales, and lovely that he has befriended Jack, Elise's son.

Long is becoming one of my favorite HR writers. She’s so descriptive.

I really needed some JAL back in my life. I’m now kind of glad I missed this book in my first read of the Pennyroyal Green Series because it seems to be exactly what I need right now!
