Have I had an ARC of this for weeks and been too scared to start? Yes! But it is time

So, I find my struggle not in the writing, Ava Reid is a great writer, but the book just feels a touch unnecessary? The author mentions that she didn’t intend for their to be a sequel initially and I don’t know about anyone else, but I can really feel it.

might be an unpopular opinion but i really don't like it when authors ruin their previously-written "hea" by throwing in dumb issues (miscommunication), it cheapens the last book for me. surely there's a myriad of other, more creative ways to start a rift rather than falling back on the characters (out of nowhere) not knowing how to talk to each other...

The time has finally come to pick this one up! I was nervous about where it would go after book one, but after reading the author's note I must say I find myself only intrigued and excited!

I gotta reread A Study in Drowning at some point and probably should have at some point before reading this one but Ava Reid let's goooooooooo
