So intriguing! I read The Broken Earth trilogy so I knew I was in for quality writing, and N.K. Jemison knows how to hook me and keep me hooked. So far, so GOOD! Love Yeine!

Just finished the first book of the trilogy called The Hundred thousand Kingdoms. I really enjoyed it. Jemisin has created an extremely interesting and complex world that definitely took some googling and note taking to fully understand. There are a lot of intricacies and things to remember but they have created such a rich and full universe it is completely worth it. Can't wait to start book two.

So Maroland had been destroyed by Nahadoth (maybe the city he destroyed in Book1?), and then the Maro called themselves the Maroneh. That’s why they started to name their daughters for sorrow and their sons for rage.

Ok so Madding’s two underlings that we see all the time are Paitya and Kitr.

Ok so the original place where the dude built Sky was Maroneh, I believe, Oree’s homeland. And the Nightlord destroyed it when the king wasn’t clear enough.
And that caused demons and darkness to spread over the land, causing aftereffects in Maroneh’s people

Ok so godlings can be killed by the Three or by each other, if strong enough.
And Oree’s eyes are deformed by the narrow strips of gray tissue layered tightly over one another. So she has malformed corneas

It’s Itempas. He’s been a houseguest of hers for at least three months now, I’m sure of it. And she can only see him in the mornings and when he comes back to life, because, oh yeah, he just has a general disregard for dangerous things like not a suicidal tendency he just doesn’t really bother to avoid danger. So he’s only magical in the mornings and when he comes back to life
