Book two done

Book one completed today. On to the next! The Broken Kingdoms.

I'm loving this story. Unfortunately, got so many things from the library at once that I ran out of time to give this its due, so I had to pause, one book into the trilogy. Excited for my library hold to come back around.

Finished the first book in this series and moved on to number two.

Finished book one, and stayed up waaaay too late doing it. Loved it!

The books in this humongous book are really not that long, the glossary and appendix on the back of each book takes up some space

I'm only 100 pages into this trilogy, but I can already tell that it is going to be amazing. The Broken Earth trilogy was incredible, but this... this is something special.

Time to start another ebook! Is my brain ready for more NK Jemisin? Maybe not, but my heart is ALL IN.

Seems like the only way I can keep myself focused enough to read this is by way of Audiobook while following along physically.

Seigh went to see his sister,Spider. Seigh found out about the Wedding of Shahar & Dekarta. Glee dragged Seigh out of the bar. Glee took Seigh up to the rm @ the Inn. Seigh found out that Shiny was dead. Seigh asked his sister to let him see his dad. Seigh had a talk w his dad.

Seigh went back to his rm & asked one of the servants to draw him a bath. When he got back into the tub the, servants started scrubbing his hair well asking all the questions Seigh asked her. Seigh meet a girl named Hymn. There were a few men after Hymn when Sieh meet. Seigh & Hymn went looking for work & ended up finding some @ a whore house.

3rd book. Shahar, Deka & Seih made a blood outh. Eight yrs was how long it had been since Seih saw Shahar. Deka was sent away from home. Shahar has not heard from her brother since he left. (All the letters she sent him get returned unopened).

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms: 4,4/10

I did not like this book. The writing style was jarring. I did not connect to the characters and the incest and pedophilia that was never questioned or addressed made me really uncomfortable. The political intrigue kept me reading but the plot twists at the end felt cheap and not executed well. Because this was her debut novel I will try to read more from her.

When Oree woke Hado was sitting in a chair in her rm. Hado told her that there were close @ the foot of her cot. As Oree dressed Hado explained everything he could to her. Lady Serymn has been captured.

Second book turning out really good as well.

Great first book!

Finished part two. Even better! And again a story that ends satisfyingly rather than a cliffhanger.

Onto the third book, but there are apparently 4 books in the third book? And then a novella??? LOL

Just started the third book. Enjoyed the first two.

Just finished the second book of the trilogy “The Broken Kingdoms”. I really enjoyed it as well though not as much as the first book. It felt very much like the second book of a trilogy - like it was just there to connect book one and three. I’m excited to read book three and see how the story ends
