Re-reading this scene because it is perfect. This whole chapter is. And it's not only Nahadoth but what this conversation implies.
The question is who is this girl to him? And the answer seems to is llinked to Enefa.

I'm not sure why, but I like this book better than the first one. On a side note, the setting reminds of the Spirit World merging with Republic City in the Legend of Korra. It also reminds me of Planescape.

I was a bit stressed and unfocused lately, so it took me longer than it should have, to figure out who Shiny is. Anyway, brilliant! :)

Holy... I'm loving this: world building, magic, crazy relatives, an interesting romance (!?). But it is too soon, what if this is the high point if the story?
There is this crazy/complex guy... and in one scene he reminded me of the Darkling so much I actually gasped. I know, I know. I'm not saying it again but I needed to get it off my chest.

I like The Broken Kingdoms so far. Another interesting and likeable protagonist. The high-magic setting is intriguing. I was complaining that the first book spent too much time in one place, but now I'm thinking maybe it's not so bad if each book is focusing on a particular region.

The second book in this omnibus was an improvement over the first. Some good world building, and I'm excited to finish this series.

I read the first two books in other editions

Done with the first book. If I had to rate it on its own, I would give it 3.5 stars. I liked the protagonist, and while the setting wasn't quite what I expected, it was quite original. At the end of the day, if I had to recommend a few books out of my currently-reading batch, this book wouldn't be among them. Having said that, I wonder what role the gods will play in the remaining books.

Again, going by the book title, I was expecting some kind of vast epicness, but it still feels more like a highbrow supernatural soap that rarely leaves Yeine's bedroom.

I feel like I just climbed a mountain. The BEST mountain ever.

This is so far my least favourite chapter (23). Not sure I like where this is going. I hope it doesn't turn completely into a supernatural romance novel.

Taking a break!

Really enjoyed the first book! The narrator's completely random not random train of thought really added layers to the reading experience. Of which I loved everyone. Just starting the second book and I'm excited to see where Jemnson takes me next.
