Really enjoyed this one. The writing was so compelling it was easy to get into.

i haven’t had time to read because of school, and now i’m removes enough from the story that i don’t care anymore ughhh

Book 2 - Done

Book one, done.

book 3’s finally grabbing my attention now. still my least favorite so far, though.

Just finished the hundred thousand kingdoms and it was so good!

i feel more comfortable with sieh’s narration now, but this is still my least favorite of the trilogy (at least for now). a murder mystery should help pick up the pace and steer the plot away from incestuous plot points.

Love livr love NK Jimisan. Will be sad when I finish the last of this trilogy.

3rd book finished! For the most part I had a feeling that I’m reading script for telenovela, there are too many love triangles (I think that Jemisin has thing for them).
Overall story is good, end fulfilling, and it gets 3 stars.
Onto novella The Awakened Kingdom.

Finished 2nd book. I didn’t like it so much. It was predictable, sometimes too slow, sometimes too rushed... I hope that final book in this trilogy will make up for this one.

3 stars for The Broken Kingdom.

I’ve finished first book! I love her writing style, there are plot twists at every corner. She does really good job in portraying characters and uses wide range of personalities.

It’s different setting than The Broken Earth but it continues to explore themes such as slavery and parent/children relationship. Hence the familiar feeling I have while reading the book.

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms gets 5 stars!

The novella at the end was the best!! That and book 1 were my faves. All in all, solid.

Onto the last book, and I am SO excited to be reading from Sieh’s POV!

04-14/03/2019: The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms was fine, for the most part, with some parts that I found excellent and some that I found dull. Given the title, I thought that there might have been some more exploration of the world as a whole (I didn't really feel that there were more than a dozen or so Kingdoms tbh). Many of the characters also seemed peripheral; but the three or so that were developed I really liked.

I’m really loving that this one is from Siehs POV. He was my favorite in the first book.
