I just finshed book 1, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms.
And how ?! I am so confused as to how it happened.. will go back and give the last few chapters a re-read .
But I loved this story ! Loved it ! The romance was so so good . 😍
But I'll say, the writing gets a complicated and I found it a lil hard to make sense of what is what .. hence the re-read ..

Started The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms . Enjoying it so far . Hopefully will get through the whole book and enjoy other books in the series as well .

Read the main 3 books and loved them. Have slowed way down on the final novella. The language is very different.

This took me forever to finish. My reading challenge is shot.

Book 2 done and wow that ending..so sad and a hint of happy as well.
I enjoyed the second book more than the first one (4.0 maybe even 4.5 STARS?)

I think I am enjoying the second book a little bit more so far..

3 books in 1 and 1442 pages - I guess this will take me a while but I'm excited!!

This reads like anime to me, for some reason. Like Chihiro being caught up in the bath house, with gods and spirits walking around. I can also see Jemisin's style here like I did with The Fifth Season.

Nothing better than the feeling of getting lost in a good book.

This book is putting me in a slumpish reading mood. This bind-up is definitely too much all at once for me. Almost there though!

Done with the second novel. Worth being 6 books behind on my reading challenge.

Okay, I just finished the second book and not gonna lie that end made me cry a little.
I think I would give it 4⭐

This second book has a different story line and different characters, but 'm still enjoying it. I'm curious about where the story is going to go...

Finished the first novel. Jemisin's writing style isn't quite as gorgeous as it has become, but this is very good. I'm not a big fantasy reader, but this seems to be a unique fantasy story. I think this is meant to be an allegory on the evils of colonialism and Christianity's roll in it. The book only covers the last two weeks of an empire, and ends with the very beginning of decolonization. Eager to see what's next.

Just finish the first book. I really like it

it already seems like it’ll be much easier to finish the book this time. while book 3 is still my least favorites, i’m planning a reread of the full trilogy as soon as i’m finished. maybe my opinions will change, maybe not. i just miss yeine and oree as protagonists.

time to actually finish this series

So much for making my reading challenge. I'm already 3 books behind, and now I'm reading this 1,442-page monster.

I might be reading this book slowly but I'm so enjoying my time with it.

But one does not run from the Arameri.

And a Darre woman does not run from revenge.

This is the fantasy I deserve. This is going to be awesome.

I just started this huge book and I'm really invested in the story already.

Realised that I need to start this omnibus asap to have any hope of returning it in time so 😆 new lunchtime read.

Why are these books so gripping. I can't figure it out yet. It's not the "retelling" style, it was only mildly interesting in the first book and an afterthought in the second. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I'm getting the same feeling I got when reading Six of Crows which was something along the lines of "wtf is happening"

I mean I expected this, considering I read NK's bibiography backwards, but still--
