Have not had headspace to read recently but a relatively quiet week I hope I can catch up on myself

I think the informant for the sleuth is the driver not Freddy

It could have been them all at this point - the baby of Jemimas is definitely the pub waiter and I think Fred could be new number 1 suspect
Ultimately it isn’t the best gripping read current 1-2 stars

We now know a lot more about Anthony’s cheating and his children’s opinions make me so angry but there clearly seems to be a reason they don’t like their mum so we shall keep reading
I also couldn’t figure out if the sleuth was male or female but since he tried it on with her I presume female given his other “conquests”

As a side note my initial suspicion is Jemima as she went missing and then was found having just showered in the middle of the party - but is that what they want you to believe we shall see.

I have been told it’s hard to get into but I haven’t found that in the first few chapters.
The juxtaposition between the chapter accounts is taking some getting used to but so far it’s ok. I’ve met the sleuth, Anthony and Olivia and he has been murdered and now trying to figure out how he died so he can go into the afterlife.

Now it's getting good. Very interested to know what Olivia knew about all this and how... especially after we heae what Lyra might've said to her 🤔

Didn’t expect the book to go this way, but I like it .

The writing style is quite casual - certainly an easy read which is nice while on holiday! I didn’t expect the chapters telling the perspective of Anthony (the dead man in this book). It’s really fascinating to see his perspective after death, and I haven’t read a book that has done this before.

She might not have been the best mother but this is actually crazy how rude they are to her when the dad was worse!

Slightly confused, but what’s new

So far, this book is the perfect example of captivating.

I won’t lie this is a lot slower than I thought it would be. Also the York slander didn’t go down well with moi

I can’t complain about how insufferable and out of touch everyone is because if I had that kind of money I would be worse

suuuch a pet peeve when theres typos in a professionally produced book

Thinking of stopping this as I'm finding it such a struggle to get into. So far I'm not finding any of the characters interesting at all and I don't really care why the main character died. There's no intrigue!

maybe if i liked true crime i would enjoy this more but instead i'm just finding everyone pretty annoying
