Status Updates From What a Way to Go

I just have this (rational) fear that the author is gonna subvert the whodunnit plot and say it was actually just an accident and don't get me wrong, it's been so fun so far with the writing and also equally funny but it would not have been worth it to pick this up

So far I’m hooked! He’s dead and the family already seem suspicious, especially the wife. I really like how each chapter is told from a different character’s POV - I think it will add a lot of depth to the story.

Forgot I started listening to this back in June, started up again and now remember why I stopped. I don't know if it's the people reading it or the book itself is a bit of a bore but I'm really trying to make my way through because someone just tell me who did it (also the amateur sleuth is soooo dull . The only remotely interesting person is olivia and that's a stretch). The show must go on!

Een leuk boek met zwarte humor. Ik moet wel zeggen dat ik af en toe de draad kwijt raak als het gaat om de moord mysterie die de jonge vrouw wil oplossen via WhatsApp berichten.

I don’t like this very much. The story is not moving quickly enough.

Taking a while to get into it.

also is it just me or is this trying too hard to be gender-inverted succession. just feels like a worse version of succession. to me

it's also way too focused on trying to be funny, but the jokes aren't really landing for me bc they're so decontextualised. it's like a satire that's completely divorced from reality.

i like the idea of having three perspective characters with distinctive voices, but the problem is that they all sound far too similar to each other

this is very repetitive, narrative structure is messy and the story has no real forward thrust

Excited for this

Anthony's POV was a bit weird at first, but now I'm enjoying getting his thoughts on things. Still feels a bit out of place though?
