A hate read if there ever was one

This woman has no morals why did she even bother doing that shit at the panel if we already know she's gonna fuck him 😭

This book is incredibly boring but I can't stop reading it and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing? Like I keep hoping for SOMETHING to happen that's not making me feel like I'm reading the DSM-5 and it feels like it's going to but then it doesn't.

I believe I might DNF here… it’s getting to be too annoying for me and I have no motivation to finish… I’ll decide tomorrow if I want to open it back up or move on.

I’m finding the male voice to be really inauthentic, the female lead too to a certain extent. It’s also very heavy handed with the indigenous author message.
We were supposed to hear the author at third place on Oct. 30 but they canceled day of! ☹️

well I preordered this 8 months ago, approximately 7 months and 3.5 weeks before the controversies with the author and it just showed up on my doorstep today so…. I guess I’ll read & not rate it

Okay I’m not 100% sure how I’m going to feel about this one. Right now it’s giving rom com meets spooky vibes but in a scooby doo kinda spooky not a horror movie kinda spooky. The writing isn’t the strongest so I can see this either just being a cute lighthearted read or being just plain bad

The timeline makes little to no sense, there is so much crammed in to what is apparently only one day? I don’t know, I think this could have been outlined/edited better. Lots of good ideas.

I don't hate it, but I'm kind of bored. And while I totally appreciate the main character's (and author's, I'm guessing) struggle with not being seen as "Indigenous enough", I keep waiting for someone to remind her of the wild amount of privilege that also comes with being white-passing. Yes, his being male comes with privilege, but so does her whiteness.
