Wolfe is just so incredibly good. LeGuin compared him to Melville but his voice as a writer is uniquely his own. The most interesting thing is how many levels he operates on. Most sci-fi has a single message or theme but he operates on several.

Sadly Wolfe died about a month ago. Like Melville however I think he will be more famous 100 years from now.

There's a difference between getting a book in the mail you want to read, are excited to read, and then something like this, which you know will be an epic experience. I read 200 pages of my Hesse book just to finish so I could get to this, and my final thoughts going to bed and waking up were about it.
