i get the "no dating allowed at work" rule is to create conflict, delay and secrets in the plot but it doesn't do much for me. I am still enjoying this however, especially the parts where she is working and overcoming those obstacles in particular! The narration heavily reminds me of one of my favorite books, Can you Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella. So I may need to reread that!

Reading this via audiobook. The narration is fun and funny so far. The writing is simple, but i don't mind. It is a nice brain break and the premise of faking til you make it at work is a fun obstacle.

I would 100% dnf this is I wasn’t reading it for book club. The anxiety her lying is giving me is awful! Ember is not likeable yet.

But...I'm listening to the audiobook and the narrator seems like she should voice YA books..
I'm going to suffer through it as long as I can but may have to switch to the written word. We will see...
