Right now, it is hard to tell how old Ember js because some of her behavior is very immature. Although, part of the reason for this narrator of the audiobook has a very young voice.

There is NO way Ember knows what “AIM chatrooms” were like, she is solidly GenZ.

I sure wish this had more…yearning? Romance? Excitement? Editing?

I about cracked up when she immediately googled how to work Quickbooks for her new job.

I love that she acknowledges that she's messy. Messy girlies rise!

Why are all the conversations that these characters are having so... banal?

... Umm, did we really need a play-by-play of Ember's entire interview, knowing about the benefits that the job comes with and whatnot? There's nothing about that conversation that is different from any other job interview discussion?

I want to love this, but Ember's voice is rather immature and cringe.

Ember tells white lies. Works at bowling ally w friend, Joanna. She gets rejected over and over trying to get an accountant job. Decides to check white. Dad is ( left) mom is Native ( left). Works. Also fibbed on college, bookkeeping. Ran into Danuowa at coffee place. He works in IT there. She interviewed and got the job. Learning about Native culture too.

Unpopular opinion, but this main character should absolutely be fired. I mean, she should also sue her workplace for creating a hostile environment but her ethics are....ermmmmm not great.

I think I just can’t read any more romance books with pathological liars…the “lie” about being white wasn’t even a lie but it now it’s like “GIRL STOP DIGGING THE HOLE”.

I…this is a very toxic work environment. Do people actually speak like this to their employees? My career has had a lot more subtle toxicity.
