Ember is so down on herself always putting herself down it’s really irritating to read someone who hates aspects of themselves so much.

Their boss is racist and creepy. I bet he is having an affair. She got stuck in the airplane bathroom. Danuwa let her out. Neither has time to do much but dive into work. Kyle was there, bro-ing it up. They ate and she did more work. Then she finally went to bed. Only to be woken up by Danuwa . The hotel overbooked that room. She attacked him at first. One bed. Eventually she let him on the bed. Why are ppl so harsh?

Her and Danuwa and the boss are going to California. For a retreat. With a person pretending to be Native American. Eesh. P asked if she were dating anyone at work. She lies about a bf. She may be dating Kyle? Jerk from work and the boss's nephew. Poor Ember. She just wanted a friend and I do not trust her.

Danuwa and his sister had lunch with her family. They meddled her into agreeing to get a new car. He knows that she has lied to him. But rolls w it. The salesman was very rude. But she got her car. Joanna is like, do him! But she won't. I am super side eye Phoebe. All of a sudden she is all smiley and come shopping with me! She is still salty. Talked her into buying expensive shows/dress. Looked at her weirdly in car

Natalie shows her what to do. Then she goes into labor. She messed up his calendar and he has mood swings. She texts with Danuwa. Phoebe is mad that Ember got the job. Anyone could be the person who fucks with her. Her car dies but Danuwa picks her up. Sage is out of jail and their father wants to be a family when he gets out. She is frustrated by her brother.

This book is so good!

At least it was realistic what happened to her. I am just irritated that nothing happened to Kyle or Phoebe.

It’s mostly great, but ebbs and flows enough that I’ve lost interest a couple of times and can’t finish.

I'm still suspicious of Phoebe ... but Kyle is pretty high on the list now too.

Liking this a lot so far, happily. Trying to figure out how old Ember is. She said she was a kid when The Princess Diaries movie came out, and that was in 2001, so what, born in like 1995? 1994?

Gary, her boss, is a major asshole. Totally incompetent at his job. And treats her like a personal assistant. She had to pay for his/wife dry cleaning! She fixed his problem, told the CEO and he is pissed. Natalie is a not nice person, according to Phoebe. Danuwa took off upon seeing her. She is still lying. And googling everything. Last day at bowling alley; D was there. Pretended to be a bowler.
