Status Updates From Heroes Are My Weakness

WTH!?! Is she communicating to Theo using her puppet?

Hmm, I can't imagine why Annie has such an awful perception of Theo. Was he really the monster? How would he be a hero, if he tried to drown puppies?

What!?! They were together? as teens?

I wonder if it's the narration, but this book is so dreary so far. Where's the comedy, the complete inanity of both the hero and heroine?

Not sure how to find this hero attractive, yet.

I like this book so far but Theo is such an asshole, like goodness gracious

I'm kinda bored by these characters ... perhaps the string along has been going too long.

For my first SEP book I am loving this one. With my love for gothic classic literature this is the perfect fit!

SEP is my weakness. I wish this book was too but it is not. The hero is unlikeable, the heroine is whiny and I keep picturing the lady who played Olive Oyl in the live action Popeye movie with Robin Williams and the cast of characters are just plain nasty. I read the reviews on this one and have delayed reading it but had to try and drive a stake through it's heart to get it off of my TBR list

So far, this book is really fun (and funny)! However, I have an issue with the story, a big one. Are Annie and Theo supposed to end up together?! Because, based on the current information about their history and the way he acts, I really don't see myself liking the outcome... Hopefully, I'm wrong and there will be some giant, oppinion-changing twist in the end.

I usually like SEP, but I'm having trouble w/ this one. I see from alot of the reviews that once I get past the 1st part of the book it gets better, so I'm going to stick it out....

Ugh. Romance novels. I'm pretty sure I have this figured out. Also, it is smuttier than I figured t would be, which makes it an interesting experience to listen to at work. *laugh*

Humble-brag. And the phrase "woman-power times", ugh, really?

Gave up on it...

I find it implausible that she's fighting attraction to a man that she not only suspects of attempting to harm her, but genuinely believes attempted to kill her when they were teenagers.

Also, I think I know who actually did all those terrible things to her back then, and who is trying to kill her now, and why.

Well this takes quirky heroine to a new level. A ventriloquist with 5 puppets who provide an ongoing commentary on everything that she does, as she's doing it. Can't wait to see what they have to say when she and the eventual love interest get it on.

Slow start to this book for me...

Oh for Pete's sake, just get over yourselves already and get to that HEA!

I'm really enjoying the subplots -- this author does such excellent supporting characters! And the sex has been pretty hot. But I still don't quite believe that Annie and Theo are all that great a match.

This is making good seasonal reading what with the cold weather in it, but I'm not loving this the way I did First Star I See Tonight. The characters are well-drawn and the plot is intriguing, but I was hoping for a bit more romance than this is offering up. I'm not sure I want Annie and Theo to overcome their history and get together! I'm certainly not seeing any good reason for that to happen.

Here's hoping this spoof of gothic novels is just as much fun as First Star I See Tonight. So far, I'm intrigued, but also thinking that unless there are some really good explanations for the likely-love-interest's earlier behavior, I'm not going to be rooting for this couple. So hmmm.
