Status Updates From Heroes Are My Weakness

SEP is my weakness. I wish this book was too but it is not. The hero is unlikeable, the heroine is whiny and I keep picturing the lady who played Olive Oyl in the live action Popeye movie with Robin Williams and the cast of characters are just plain nasty. I read the reviews on this one and have delayed reading it but had to try and drive a stake through it's heart to get it off of my TBR list

So far, this book is really fun (and funny)! However, I have an issue with the story, a big one. Are Annie and Theo supposed to end up together?! Because, based on the current information about their history and the way he acts, I really don't see myself liking the outcome... Hopefully, I'm wrong and there will be some giant, oppinion-changing twist in the end.

I usually like SEP, but I'm having trouble w/ this one. I see from alot of the reviews that once I get past the 1st part of the book it gets better, so I'm going to stick it out....

Ugh. Romance novels. I'm pretty sure I have this figured out. Also, it is smuttier than I figured t would be, which makes it an interesting experience to listen to at work. *laugh*

Humble-brag. And the phrase "woman-power times", ugh, really?

Gave up on it...

I find it implausible that she's fighting attraction to a man that she not only suspects of attempting to harm her, but genuinely believes attempted to kill her when they were teenagers.

Also, I think I know who actually did all those terrible things to her back then, and who is trying to kill her now, and why.

Well this takes quirky heroine to a new level. A ventriloquist with 5 puppets who provide an ongoing commentary on everything that she does, as she's doing it. Can't wait to see what they have to say when she and the eventual love interest get it on.

Slow start to this book for me...
