This doesn't read like a Susan Elizabeth Phillips novel... And what's with the puppets?

struggling to finish.. annie is so boring, talking to her puppets is weird, she still hasnt gotten over theo when they were young and she is being immature to make pranks on theo when he hasnt done anything to her now. im not sure where this book is going. annie is not doing anything productive, i dont know why theo is so mysterious. very disappointed. i expect really light and witty banter from this author.

This just might be my new favorite SEP book. Cannot. Put. It. Down.

The creepy puppet talking has died down a bit so I'm trying again...I'll admit I'm intrigued enough to see this through. Usually SEP books are worth it!

Oh wow after her last few books that I had to DNF'd I had given up on SEP but THIS has made me love love love her all over again.

Finally, she is using these puppets as something other than her therapist. I have come to the realization that I am a puppet hater ! Yep I'm totally a hater !

I should have known better to start a SEP novel when I was not on vacation. All I want to do right now is read and, unfortunately, life & work is getting in my way. I'm loving this book...not quite understanding some of the ho-hum reviews.

First of all- eyeroll at the description/summary on the goodreads page. I swear, if I was not already an SEP fan... Secondly, Annie and her puppets (and this whole macabre atmosphere) feels like a Tim Burton movie. Thirdly, love gothic novels so this should be exciting!

Omg I've stepped into crazy-ville. This starts out with her hearing her luggage talking to her.? Wwwhat ? her best friends are her ventriloquist dolls, who speak to her all the time ?!?!? I'll give it another 4 % to get better.

started slow, but is picking up now. Interesting heroine, I like her better than the beginning.

Nope. Just cannot get through this one. I see other reviewers said it improves, but after a third of the book, I have given it all the time it is going to get.
