This otherwise excellent book suffers from OWMS (Old White Male Syndrome), in that the author feels the need to mention if his female PhD students were "pretty" or "lovely and well-spoken", but not the physical attributes of his male students. Where was his editor?

I'm reading this book as part of my research for my graduation project. I'm a bit of an Entomophobe, I literally get the jeebers when I see a grasshopper or a wasp or a spider (no insect, but still freaky). This book is a really nice addition for my research! I'm beginning chapter 5 at the moment and I'm already flooded with information! Plus I'm falling deeper and deeper in love with these humble little bees!
