Status Updates From These Gentle Wounds

A friend loaned me this book after she gushed over it. She was dead on. I was reading it in my classroom today.. And I was weeping on my couch trying to figure out how to adopt the fictional Gordie. I can't wait to read more.

This book is so gooooood!

Woah. So far, this book has really sucked me in. It's dramatic and intense...I feel like I'm living this boy's anxiety.

Why do some writers feel the need to lessen their books with forced insta love romances?

Good lord this book is gut-wrenching!

This book is progressively getting more honest and tough to put down. Even better that the author lives in Nashville.

This is a powerful but sometimes very depressing book about a teenage boy who was the sole survivor when his mother purposely drove her car into a river kill three other siblings. He is scarred mentally and trying to deal with "normal" life is almost impossible. The writing puts the reader right there with the boy. Jumbled thoughts, nervous twitches, horrible nightmares. Really, really powerful.

I wonder what Gordie's plan is.. why he needs Sarah for it...

Very good start. A book that boys can actually relate to. I like it.

This book is INTENSE. One if the closest first person voices I've ever read.

Every page is breaking my heart. One of the best boy POVs I've read in a while.
