I know this is a children's novel...but a student of mine thought I should read it...it has a library in it...what could be better than that :)

Kyle's team finds the exit, and wins. While I was reading the book I had some questions about the plot. "Will someone eventually find the exit?" "Who will find the exit." These were my main questions while I was reading.

Now in the book, all of the kids are trying to figure out how to escape the library without using the main exits and the fire escape doors. Kyle and his friends team up, and work together to find the exit. They have to find a lot of clues that will lead them to the exit. Everybody hopes the Charles, a mean and stuck up kid, will not win. Then, Charles gets kicked out of the game because he cheated.

If I could change one thing it would be to involve Mr. Lemonchello in the story more, because he is such an inserting character. It's mainly his assistant talking for him.

Now, in the book, all of the 12 winners are at the library. They play some of Mr. Lemonchello's games. The next morning, loud music is playing throughout the whole library. Turns out, the kids are going to play Mr. Lemonchello's new game, escape from Mr. Lemoncellos library. The kids have to find an alternative exit from the library. The winner gets glory and fame.

Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library is a decent book so far. It's a book for school, and I am not tearing out my hair yet, so that's a good sign.

I'm reading this book to my 7 year old son and 9 year old daughter. A friend of mine recommended the book. I'm wondering if she 1.) actually read it or 2.) recommended it as a joke.
Seriously - who could possibly give this book more than one or two stars? My children and I spend hours reading each night and week, pouring through books. This has to be the worst I've read. I'm on page 175...counting down u till we

Kyle is one of the winners. It really isn't essential that the story takes place in the setting that it does. That is because the story takes place in a town, and there isn't anything special about it. The story takes place in present day.

So far in the book, the main character Kyle and his brothers are playing a one of Mr. Lemonchello's games which is a scavenger hunt. Kyle climbs through a window in his house for a short cut. But, he shatters the window so he gets grounded. Mr. Lemonchello's new library is opening soon, and there's an essay contest at Kyles school for 12 12 year olds to get to see the library before it opens.

Hopefully this book gets better soon, because it's starting to get a little boring.

So far, the only interesting thing to me is the Red Pyramid reference. RICK RIORDAN FOR LIFE.

Started reading this tonight with my kids. We loved the gollywhopper games and Charlie and the chocolate factory and this seems like a great mix of both of those that we checked it out from the library. Great beginning, unfortunately we started really close to bedtime that we didn't read very far...until tomorrow.
