La lecture est exigeante mais avec quelques informations glanées çà et là, une compréhension globale est possible notamment au chant V.

L'emploi des lois de l'optique relève du génie. Les lois, que dis-je, la rupture de ces lois et des proportions considérées comme 'normales' ou 'normatives' justifient tant la syntaxe que les images mobilisées.

Lautreamont, one of the most talented poets I have discovered. What about syntax, images or metaphors.. How can one write such stanzas at such an age ! A more than rare height of spirit. Memorable for such a start.

I wonder if I picked the most optimal version of this book, because intriguingly macabre and atmospheric as it is, the endless strings of flowery run-on sentences are extremely taxing to follow, in the way that they're presented here at least. It takes me at least 2 rereads of most everything to get a mental image of what's it about. The third and fourth cantos were a lot more digestible than the first two, however.
