I'm not thirteen, but I think I can still appreciate this book. I love the PC games. Haven't picked up a Nancy Drew book since middle school!

I feel like this book was written by a 14 year old for a 9 year old. Oh my gosh how much do I have to dumb it down for little kids-gah

Would it be horrible for me to say that this book is obnoxiously boring?

Did I really go from Harry Potter to Nancy Drew?

I loved reading Nancy Drew books when I was a kid. Now that I'm reading The Secret of the Old Clock again as an adult, I realize what a privileged life Nancy lives. She has no problems and is solving mysteries for fun. It's a bit surreal.

I read this aloud to the kids. So different from reading it back when I was a kid.

In the first 100 pages, Nancy has changed a flat tire and fixed a malfunctioning outboard boat engine. She's my girl!

Feels like it's wrapping up too easily... Only two chapters left.

I think most people would be pretty interested when the heroine gets locked in a closet by a gang of thieves who then leave and take the key with them. But that just didn't do it for me. Ha. Bring on the spooky, old mansions, shadowy paths through the woods, and secret passageways! My favorite thing about this book is that Nancy seems softer and more real than in most of the other stories. Less cookie-cuttered.

I didn't get a chance to read at all yesterday, and only a chapter tonight, but I'm enjoying it. Nancy seems a bit more human in this one. I liked the part where she overheard one of the Topham sisters saying "Oh, how I hate that interfering girl!" And "could barely refrain from laughing". It's very rare for me to laugh while reading a Nancy Drew book.
