Finally finished. Though the book started slowly, it quickly picked up. Asher, Dathne and the rest of the main assemblage were very detailed, interesting characters; I saw Asher change and grow as a result of finally accepting Prophecy. Finally, Veira was a welcome addition to the series, fulfilling the roles of teaching mentor and mother all-in-one. Great novel.

Still kinda slow, but the pace is picking up. Starting to get really interesting now..!

There are actually 678 pages in my edition though, just can't be bothered to look for the right one.

I brought this book to read on my breaks, and got hooked in, dammit. I liked the first of the series, and so far the second hasn't disappointed.. More when I finish.

Miller wastes no time getting right into the action which was much to my happiness after the way The Innocent Mage ended.

I've been reading this book in small chunks - enjoying it, but slow going.
