SETTING: The book takes place in 1930 and a city called Bayport. Each scene is almost a clue to the mysteries they would be solving.

Characterization: Joe a 18 year old who looks for clues and thinks were could the clues lead to and who they lead to. Also Joe has a brother Frank that helps Joe or the other way around.

supporting characters: The supporting character name is Chet and is a friend of Joe and Frank. He plays a little and big role at the same time like end up saving or helping the Hardy's. In the missing chums he has been taken from bank robbers and Joe and Frank are trying to figure out were he is.

Good start.

Lots of housework today so audiobooks are a must

You guys, I can't with this book, I forgot that despite it being old and like more chill, there's still a lot to hold your breathe for, like these boys keep getting close to danger.

Things just got real when I was reading last night, the Hardy Boys fell into a pool of water in a dark cave then they narrowly missed being caught by the captives of their friends not to mention a big snake almost attacked them.

The more I read this book the more I'm realizing how much I missed my old mystery books, they're not quite as quick witted, captivating or thrilling as more recent mystery novels but they have a certain charm to them that adds to the experience of reading it, it's like transporting to their time and learning the customs and advancements of the era while getting a good read with some mystery, knowledge and laughs.

Because I can't not read on vacation, and I only packed like 4 books for variety, bc what if I decide I'd rather read a historical fiction instead of a 60s mystery, I mean come on, and don't even talk to me about e-books, I can't and won't read an e-book so I deal with the extra weight in packing.

This is why we should never listen to Frank

I love that their friends are missing and they almost immediately ask about their missing boat lol

Chapter XX
Ambushing the Enemy

The Hardy's are back at Hermit Island. While there Joe and Jerry accidently get captured but Frank and Tony manage to escape. After a few hours of waiting Frank and Tony come back with cops and the robbers/bad guys get caught. While searching through the cave that they were trapped in they find Chet and Biff, the missing chums! They also find Mr. French from the costume store. All is well once again! (Resolution)
