I am disappointed that it took me this long to start reading Diaspora after Permuation City.
The visual metaphors Mr. Egan uses to describe difficult abstract concepts in math topologies and quantum physics make this book great on their own, but it is the ideas around life as software, that made me remember why i choose and continue to research and work in distributed computing and machine learning, to start with.
