Status Updates From Schild's Ladder

I really enjoyed the beginning, but I'm currently stuck in the middle. It's really lagging. I've put it to the side, and hopefully will come back reinvigorated soon.

Skipping the physics jargon and just focusing on the plot.

Not bad, but *very* heavy on the theoretical physics. It almost takes itself too seriously, and ends up approaching "Star Trek" science. (I'm half-expecting someone to suggest the solution is to "reverse the polarity".)

A wild, brain hurty ride. Trying to visualize the environment they're in is challenging. I fall back to high school biology and views from a microscope into living systems.

In between the theoretical quantum-ish physics, is a real story. A good one. The science is neat too.

My....brain.....

It started off super dense-mathish, but it's backed off. It's good.

Oh, this is going to require large parts of my brain. I haven't stretched for a book in ages.

I like it when Egan sticks with brain-stretching post-humanism. Occasionally the scientific theory here confounds me.

Whew! A tough read. Much less accessible than Egan's other nonaccessible books.
