Status Updates From Il mio omicidio

The writing is okay, but I'm not loving it so far

So far I am really enjoying this. It is not what I expected at all, in a good way. It's more literary than I thought it was going to be. I initially thought ths was just going to be a quirky light sci-fi, domestic thriller, but again it's more literary than that. As of right now, I highly recommend it! I will update when I finish it and see if I still think so.

This is so fucking weird

Interesting look at grief, trauma, identity etc. unfortunately I don’t have the mental capacity to finish this book right now but I would love to come back to it later.

I couldn’t put this down if you paid me. Don’t get me wrong, I’d want the money. But I’m physically incapable, my attention is FIXED.

This has been so intensely fascinating, I can’t read it before bed because I don’t sleep.

Overall I really enjoyed my time reading this book! The prose was very clever and although I had to re-read some pages every so often, I still loved the writing style. The ending has me 🤔🤔🤔

It's an interesting choice to make the mystery appear halfway through the book. I have my suspicions about Silas, and even Odd (lol) a bit, but I think I only feel that way because of the description of the book

Also, I did not like her (when we first met her), and now that I know MORE about her POV, I still don't really like her. The story it really engaging, though.

This is not a "normal" story. We have IMO an unreliable narrator, for she's been killed and ONLY has a limited amount of information, and now that she's cloned...she is living in a world where EVERYTHING that was normal, is not related to who she currently is. I have an opinion that I think I know who killed her, after what Early said. AND, I've felt this way from the beginning. 1/2

OKAY FINALLY, HERE WE GO

The story is interesting so far— lots of backstory right now, which is definitely needed and appreciated. I just hope I don’t get to the halfway point of the book and left still wondering wtf is supposed to be going on lol

I'm not even sure wtf is happening right now but it's getting really good.

Switched to reading this one and wow, I can't put it down! Will probably finish tonight...

this is so much more futuristic than youd think itd be - not a bad thing necessarily but really strange

I’m certainly intrigued more than enough to keep going, but a lot of the writing is over the top enough to border on feeling satirical.
